We were in Chapters last night, in the magazine section, and I just had to take a photo of this one dog magazine. (FYI, there are SEVERAL dog-specific magazines). Anyway, just read the articles posted on the cover. 'Reduce Fido's eco footprint?', 'Take Better Photos of Your Dog'? Plus further down it says 'Blog about your Dog'. What the....? How is it possible that this magazine still exists? A magazine that describes itself as "the best dog magazine ever"?? How is this possible when Gourmet recently had to shut down? It boggles the mind.
Another thing that boggles my mind is this:
Yep. Pink lady tools. Now I know there are a lot of breast cancer pink things out there to raise amazing amounts of money, which is great, but in some cases the pepto-pink lady thing has gone far enough. I believe that you shouldn't be using the pink-lady colour unless you are planning on donating a seriously sizable amount to cancer research. None of this "10% will go to breast cancer research" bullshit. Where's the other 90% going? It's not covering the cost of making these crappy pink tools, they were made for $1.50 in China. It's going to the company that came up with the idea of "lady-tools" and using breast cancer as the giant trojan horse that covers up the fact that they're not really interested in donating, like, tonnes of money to cancer research, they just want to use the pink-cancer brand to help them sell something to women even though women are perfectly capable of fixing/building things with tools that are not pink (hard to beleive, but yes, it's true!).
Perhaps I'm wrong about this one...but it irks me.
