Only six days left until I get married, a time that I have affectionately named my 'countdown to crinoline'. I've been doing a whole lot of lady stuff lately. I had a wedding shower (with ladies) and a bachelorette (with ladies) and they were all really fun. And now I'm shopping for undergarments and worrying about breakouts and...well, the whole thing sorta makes me feel super self-conscious sometimes. Like I'm 12. And I'm playing Girl Talk with my friends. Who are all far more developed then I am. And I'm trying to sort of tent-out my shirt a little bit so that it doesn't show.
Remember Girl Talk? Good god. What the hell were we thinking? What were our PARENTS thinking? For those of you who don't know, Girl Talk was "the game of truth or dare", and quite frankly, I don't know which was worse.
The dares included:
- Describe the perfect prom dress
- Tell each player her best & worst features (!!)
- Put an ice cube down your shirt and let it melt.
Failure to attempt a dare results in the player wearing a Zit Sticker for the rest of the game (they were missing). Successful completion of the dare results in points and ultimately in fortune cards in four categories:
- Career - "An interest and a flair for modeling will lead to cover layouts in five major fashion magazines"
- Marriage - "The boy who is last, alphabetically, on the roll call list at school will become your future husband"
- Children - "The total of odd numbers in your phone number indicates how many children you will have"
- Special Moments - "You will decorate your future home using your school colors"
Ohhhh dear.
Here's the commercial.
